Back to School for Lesotho CAF A Licence Pioneers
The Lesotho Football Association will host the CAF A License Coaching Diploma Refresher Course for twenty-three coaches that were the first group to attain the coaching qualification in the Kingdom in 2016.
The Refresher Course will run from September 13th to 15th at Bambatha Tšita Sports Arena and will be facilitated by renowned CAF Instructor Serame Letsoaka.
The list is headlined by Lesotho senior team coach Leslie Notši, assistant coach Bob Mafoso as well as former national team stars such as Lehlohonolo Seema, Motheo Mohapi, Teele Ntšonyana, Molefe Makhele and Malefetsane Pheko.
Jwaneng Galaxy coach Morena Ramoreboli, Mark Harrison and Elizabeth Yelimala, who coaches the Lesotho girls Under-17 team, are the three participants born outside Lesotho shores.
The group will be missing several names who have since passed on such as former Likuena and Mehalalitoe coaches Moses Maliehe and Pule Khojane as well as Kekeletso Lebeta and former national team striker, Motlatsi Shale.
The CAF A License is a strict requirement by CAF for coaches to be eligible to be in technical area during official CAF competitions.
LeFA Technical Director Lehlohonolo Thotanyanya stated that it was important for the Association to have a refresher course for these coaches, who graduated with A License in 2016 as the game keeps evolving.
“Football is dynamic, its evolving all the time and coaches should be refreshed regularly and for this particular group, its been a long time since the attained their CAF A badges,” Thotanyana said.
“They need to be equipped with latest trends in coaching and football because it is advised that coaches should get to be refreshed at least every two years.”
