The Lesotho Football Association’s Disciplinary and Disputes Committee (DISPROCO) Chairperson, Advocate Shale Shale has been appointed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), to serve in the Disciplinary Board for the TotalErnegies Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.

Advocate Shale’s stock has been on the rise since his appointment to serve in the CAF Disciplinary Committee in 2023 and was handed a similar role for the recent African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament held in East Africa.

He was also in a panel that oversaw four cases of CAF Interclub Competitions such as the two cases where both South Africa’s Orlando Pirates and St Lupopo of DR Congo filed complaints with CAF against each other as well as other cases involving the eligibility Al Merrick player Mohamed Kesra Hakeem and that of JSK of Algeria Vs US Monastirienne of Tunisia.

Advocate Shale will link up with renowned assistant referee Souru Phatšoane as LeFA’s two representatives that have earned call-ups to serve in the continental showpiece scheduled for Morocco from December 21st to January 18th.

Advocate Shale admitted that serving the CAF Disciplinary Board is big responsibility, which he believes has helped him grow as an individual and his work as the Chairperson of the LeFA DISPROCO.

“Serving on the CAF Disciplinary Board is a significant responsibility that comes with various perspectives. It is an opportunity to showcase the talent and skills that Lesotho as a country and LeFA as an Association can produce through its members,” the DISPROCO Chairperson said.

He expressed his gratitude to the football governing body for trusting the expertise from the Kingdom to serve among best legal minds of continental football in his role in the CAF Disciplinary Board as well as for major competitions such as CHAN AFCON.

“I’m honored and proud as a Mosotho to be selected amongst the best legal minds of football in the whole of Africa. I will be bringing back home wealth of experience from participating in the AFCON for the benefit of my country.”

“The CAF Disciplinary Board upholds the rules and regulations of football in Africa making it essential to promote transparency and justice. Being part of the Board provides me with the opportunity to contribute to the development of football in the continent,” added Advocated Shale

Due to diverse cultures within African football, one has to keep a balanced approach and be culturally sensitive.

“This is therefore a good opportunity for me as a member of LeFA to tap from other colleagues in the continent in order to improve our football at home,” he said.
