Lesotho striker Motebang Sera says he is honoured to have become his country all-time leading goal scorer in the COSAFA Cup after his double against Zambia took him to the top of the charts with six goals.<\/h3>\n

The Bloemfontein Celtic striker takes up the baton from former Lesotho captain Tlali Maile, who was on five goals having netted four and one at the 2013 and 2015 editions of the tournament respectively.<\/p>\n

Sera is currently on six COSAFA Cup goals alongside the likes of Deon Hutto of Namibia and Malawi\u2019s Gabadihno Mhango, who also play their football in the South African DSTV Premiership.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old has registered a goal in each of the last five tournaments since coming on as second half substitute to score in the 90th<\/sup> minute as Lesotho clinched a comfortable 3-0 win over Mauritius at the 2016 tournament in Namibia.<\/p>\n

He joins Mozambique legend Tico Tico Bucuane as the only players to have scored in five different COSAFA Cup tournaments, but with Sera the only player to have done it in five straight competitions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really an honour to learn that I\u2019m Lesotho\u2019s top goal scorer in the COSAFA Cup,\u201d Sera said. I have also learned that I have scored in five tournaments consecutively.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really a great thing and I\u2019m very humbled and honoured with those achievements. All this wouldn\u2019t be possible without the assistance of my teammates and the technical team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t play for individual glory, but I always want to score and help my country win in every match we play. I will keep working hard and grateful with the opportunity to serve my country\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking on Lesotho\u2019s final Group A match against South Africa, the lanky forward is adamant they can upset their neighbours like they did beating them over two legs in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers in 2019.<\/p>\n

Lesotho won the first leg match 3-2 in Maseru and went on to complete a famous double with a 3-0 victory at the Dobsonville Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cComing to the game with Bafana Bafana, we have been preparing for the game and it\u2019s a must win for us. We really need to win this one and we have put our minds to it because anything can still happen in our group,\u201d the Lesotho striker said.<\/p>\n
