LeFA President Advocate Salemane Phafane told a media briefing earlier this week that they have already advertised the job in the search for the new Likuena coach, who is expected to start the job by March.<\/p>\n
The new coach\u2019s first assignment is likely to be the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations preliminary round, where Likuena will know its fate in the draw scheduled to take place in Cameroon on Friday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe other issue I want to remind you about is that our senior national team, Likuena is still without a coach after Mr. Senong vacated the position last year,\u201d the LeFA president told a media briefing on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur Technical Director Mr Leslie Notsi took over on an interim basis to see to it that we still have the national team that can compete, and he has been doing a good job.\u201d<\/p>\n
Advocate Phafane stated that Notsi will continue to oversee Likuena until the new national team coach has been appointed.<\/p>\n
\u201cMr. Notsi will continue to oversee the team until the new coach has been appointed and will use all his knowledge as an experienced coach to make sure the team performs,\u201d Advocate Phafane stated.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut what is important is that we have started the search for the new coach, and we invited all coaches locally, regionally and internationally to submit their applications.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will try and pick the best within our reach and within our means. Our plan is that by mid-February we have a substantive coach that will take over from Mr. Notsi as the national team coach,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The LeFA president told the briefing that the Association is using two methods in the search for the Likuena coach, which is to head hunt and open application for all coaches interested in the job to apply.<\/p>\n
Likuena is the top ranked country of the 12 less ranked team that will participate in the Friday preliminary round draw that will take place in Cameroon.<\/p>\n
They are in pot one along with Eswatini, Botswana, Gambia, South Sudan, and Mauritius.<\/p>\n
Pot two consists of Chad, Sao Tome, Djibouti, Somalia, Seychelles, and Eritrea.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
