The 62-year-old, who has been working in Africa since 1992, coaching in countries such as Angola, Botswana, South Africa, and Zambia was among over 100 coaches that had applied for the Lesotho coaching job.<\/p>\n
He takes over the coaching reins from the Lesotho Football Association Technical Director Leslie Notsi, who has been temporarily in charge of the team since the departure of Thabo Senong.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is my great honour and pleasure to be chosen to be the coach of the Lesotho National team and I would like to give my promise, that I will do my best to contribute to the achievements and goals of the Lesotho Football Association,\u201d the Serbian born coach said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know the country has limitations in terms of players playing in professional leagues as we get to play against top countries in the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers, but that does not matter, and we will always give our best to make the country proud.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Serbian first challenge as the new Lesotho coach, will be the next month Total Energies 2023 Africa Cup of Nations back-to-back preliminary round qualifiers against Seychelles.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe respect each opponent irrespective of their FIFA ranking and we will give Seychelles the respect it deserves because they are a tough opponent, but we fight for results in the field of play,\u201d the new Lesotho coach stated.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will not underestimate any opponents because we know they have caused upsets in the past and we will not make any mistake.<\/p>\n
