The list is headlined by former national team stars T\u1e67epo Hlojeng, Motlatsi Maseela, Motlalepula Majoro to mention a few as well as National U-17 Head Coach Motolo Makepe.<\/p>\n
South African James Madidilane, who spent years working in the country including a short spell as part of the Likuena technical team, is the only coach among the 22 coming from outside the shores of Lesotho.<\/p>\n
The Lesotho Football Association has over the years contributed to the coach education of some of the coaches coming from the region such as Morena Ramoreboli from South Africa and now in charge of Jwaneng Galaxy as well as Abram Nteo, who is the assistant coach at Royal AM.<\/p>\n
FIFA Regional Technical Consultant, Serame Letsoaka, who previously worked as the Technical Director for South Africa and Botswana, and is also a CAF and FIFA Instructor, is among biggest football technicians, who also got their formal coaching education in the Kingdom of Lesotho.<\/p>\n
LeFA Technical Director Lehlohonolo Thotanyana expressed his delight at the successful hosting of the first ever A License Course, which was instructed by local Instructors from the coaching manuals written in the country after CAF called for coaching convention to review and standardize coaching content across the continent.<\/p>\n
He stated that it was a big milestone that Lesotho was among the first countries in the region to fulfil the CAF requirements to host such courses.<\/p>\n
“This is historical for the Lesotho Football Association in my opinion because as the prerequisite of the convention, we held a course to train instructors, they were graded by CAF, they came up with the timetable,” the LeFA Technical Director said.<\/p>\n
“For the first time in our history, we wrote our own manuals and had our own instructors conducting the course while two CAF Inspectors from Angola and South Africa graced the course for a few days to monitor progress.”<\/p>\n
The Lesotho Football Association was among the first three Southern African countries alongside Botswana and Mozambique to fulfil the Confederation of African Football (CAF) A criteria coaching courses standards.<\/p>\n
This was after CAF in 2017 summoned a coaching convention to review and standardize coaching content across the continent, which led to the continental Football body halting all its coaching courses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
