LeFA mourns former youth international-Molikeng Makhebesela
The football fraternity in the Mountain Kingdom is mourning the untimely passing of former Lesotho youth international Molikeng Makhebesela, who was a member of the Makoanyane that played at the 2019 COSAFA U-20 Championship in Zambia.
The utility player was a member of the Makoanyane XI team, which was under the mentorship of Bob Mafoso and Bafokeng Mohapi. He was early in 2021 invited to train with the senior team, Likuena by then coach, Thabo Senong.
He came through the ranks at Sefotha-fotha FC youth teams before he was snapped by Matlama to play for their development team until he was promoted to the senior.
He took a break from the game due to health issues before he was loaned-out to Machokha FC during the 2022/2023 season, but again took a break from the game due to illiness.
LeFA and the football family are poorer without the young man as a lot was still expected from him for a player of his age, but his promising football career has been cut short by death.
On behalf of the football fraternity, LeFA sends its heartfelt condolences to all his former clubs, his friends and family, as we all come to terms with the painful loss of such a young and talented footballer.
Our hearts and prayers are with all his loved ones. Rest in peace Molikeng ‘Dix’ Makhebesela.
