Lesotho, Namibia coaches post-match reactions
Lesotho and Namibia national team coaches post-match reactions following a one-all draw in a friendly match played in Johannesburg on Saturday, as the two countries fine tunes their preparations for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Erastus Kalula put Namibia ahead in the early stages of the first half but Lesotho found their way back into the game through Motlomelo Mkwanazi, who equalised in the dying minutes of the game.
Leslie Notsi: “I would like to thank the Namibia national team for giving us the opportunity to play with them in terms of preparation for the match we have just mentioned.
“I think we were expecting a tough match, which truly it was. They are a very good team, a lot of speed in terms of transitions, physically, they are there.
“It was an opportunity for our boys to adapt playing a team like Namibia, I think they are a lot of attributes we took from this match and, there is a lot of room for improvement coming towards the important matches we are going to play.
“So, all in all, I think, it was a match that was played in a good spirit and was very competitive and we are satisfied with performance of our boys.”
Collin Benjamin: “First, a good test. A good test where we could have those young players get a good run against a good international team.
“The way Lesotho could come out of play from the back that was really impressing me. It’s something that we must also work on because it’s something that we want to get our opponents not to play as easy as that from the back.
“So, I think, going through the game, a good technical game from their side, we could hold one of two chances that we could have in the first half, but we going to learn from that.
“Like I said, it’s a young team, it’s a new team and good opponent that was good organized and It’s for us to see how we unlock a good, organised team.
“In the end, with a 1-1 draw, I think it was a fair share of spoils.”
