Mehalalitoe stars square-off in South Africa
Lesotho Women’s national team stars will go head-to-head in the South African Hollywoodbets Super League as Royal AM host Mamelodi Sundowns at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.
Royal Am drew first blood winning the first-round encounter 1-0 and Sundowns will be looking for revenge when the two teams meet in a potential explosive encounter on Saturday afternoon.
Boitumelo Rabale’s Sundowns, who are in second position enjoy a four-point advantage over fourth placed Royal AM, who have Mosili Motṧoeneng and Litṧeoane Maloro in the books
Rabale is the reigning Hollywoodbets Super League Player of the Season having played a key role as Sundowns successfully defended their league title in the previous campaign while Maloro and Motṧoeneng are in their first season at AM.
The trio are key members of Mehalalitoe, as the Lesotho Women’s team is affectionately known, and were once teammates at Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies before the club closed shop.
Sundowns are looking to make it four Hollywoodbets title in a row but must first overcome the huddle against Royal AM to catch up with UWC, who are at the summit of the standings with 60 points while the defending champions have 50 points but are three games behind.
The Tshwane outfit are playing catch-up having recently clinched their second CAF Women’s Champions League/COSAFA Qualifiers title after defeating Double Action of Botswana in the final.
