Likuena players plying their trade outside the country endured mixed fortunes on their return to club football following the FIFA break where the Leslie Notsi coached side played South Africa and Rwanda respectively.

The Lesotho team played their fifth and sixth fixtures of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers where they went down 2-0 to Bafana Bafana and got a 1-1 draw against Rwanda for the sixth point of the campaign.
Thabang Malane returned to club football in style winning the MTC Maris Cup in Namibia with African Stars in his first season playing his football in Namibia. His club is also in contention for the league title and has a chance of playing in the CAF Interclub competitions again.
Chippa United defender Thabo Makhele also enjoyed a good weekend as he helped his side register a 2-1 victory over AmaZulu, where he played his 20th game from 21 games played by the Chilli Boys so far in the Betway Premiership.
Makhele is Chippa’s player with most appearances this season alongside Cameroonian striker Bienvenu Eva Nga.
Likuena captain Sekhoane Moerane, who was impressive in the two games against South Africa and Rwanda had to settle for a place on the bench as Orbit College suffered a 1-0 loss Highbury while Tswarelo Bereng was not in the match day squad.
South African newspapers have reported that the Likuena captain has once again attracted the attention of clubs in the Betway Premiership after impressive performance in the two World Cup Qualifiers.
Elsewhere, Motlomelo Mkhwanazi was also on the bench as Kruger United played to a one-all draw against Cape Town Spurs.
Meanwhile, Teboho Letsema, who didn’t not make the final squad for the two games finally made his debut for Upington City after after making a switch from Sekhukhune United in the Betway Premiership.
In Botswana, Neo Mokhachane and Lehlohonolo Fothoane were introduced in the second half for Jwaneng Galaxy and Township Rollers respectively.
Second placed Galaxy were held to a 1-1 draw by Orapa United while fourth placed Rollers were beaten 2-0 at home by Sua Flamingoes.
Fusi Matlabe of Mpheni Defenders was given a rest as his side playing to make the play-offs to qualify for Motsepe Championship registered a 2-1 victory over Tlhotlhokwe Golden Syrup.
