The Lesotho Football Association prominent assistant referee Souru Phatšoane has been shortlisted among the continent’s top match Officials invited to the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations Prepatory and Selection course.

According to the Confederation of African Football, the main objective of the course is to refresh the referees and check their readiness for the tournament to be staged in Morocco from 21 December to 18 January.

The six-day training scheduled for Cairo, Egypt will commence on November 8 and conclude 13th. The referees will undergo physical, theoretical and technical tests during the course.

The Lesotho star referee has officiated in the last three editions of the prestigious continental showpiece since making his debut in 2019 tournament in Egypt.

Phatšoane stock has been on the rise since making his AFCON debut and has gone on to officiate every final of a CAF major competition including two CAF Champions League final.
