Rabale star continues to shine in SA
Mehalalitoe captain Boitumelo ‘Queen’ Rabale has bagged yet another award after a stunning season with Mamelodi Sundowns having played a key role in the successful defending of the Hollywoodbets Super League title.
She was this past weekend rewarded with the most Improved Player accolade alongside Namibia’s Peter Shalulile, as the two players were top goal scorers in the Sundowns female and male teams respectively.
The Lesotho Women’s national team captain is also in line to scoop the South African Football Journalists (SAFJA) Women’s Footballer of the Year award.
The 26-year-old was impressive for club and country throughout the year scoring 30 goals in all competitions and earning a place in team of thr tournament at both the COSAFA Women’s Championship as well as CAF Women’s Champions League.
She netted 27 goals in all competitions for Sundowns Ladies and scored a hat-trick for her country in 3-0 victory over Eswatini at the COSAFA Cup.
“Sundowns recently held the awards for its senior teams in the male and female categories. They only awards that were handed out on the day are those that went to me and Peter Shalulile as the most improved players from both the male and female teams, who also happens to be top goal scorers from the two teams,” Rabale said.
“My attention has now shifted to the SAFJA awards because I’m confident of taking it as well. The just ended season was meant for me and I’m very excited.”
