Seema heaps praise on humble Sera
Bloemfontein Celtic coach Lehlohonolo Seema has praised Lesotho International-Motebang Sera after an impressive start to life at Phunya-Sele-Sele.
The 2018/19 Econet Premier League top Goal-scorer has hit the ground running at Celtic netting three goals from his first five matches.
Sera opened his account for Celtic in a league match against Mamelodi Sundowns, where he came from the bench in the 2-1 defeat late in August. He scored again in the recent back-to-back matches against SuperSport United and Highlands Park.
“We did not throw him into the deep end and introduced him to South African football gradually as it was a new environment for him. That helped him settle down nicely and we are now seeing the results,” Seema told the LeFA website.
“He gave the right attitude and commitment from day one in training. That made it easy for him to develop an understanding with his new teammates. The club at large gave him the support he needed to settle down.”
The former Likuena skipper feels it’s important for Sera not to put himself under pressure and should focus on each game as it comes.
“The goals are good for his confidence going forward and he can achieve more if he continues to work hard and remain humble. He has our support as the technical team and that of his teammates,” Seema said.
“The ball is in his court to continue doing the right things that will help his career and be a better player.
“We will not expect him to score in every game and all we want is for him to enjoy his football and continue to improve,” he said.
