
The Lesotho Senior national team, Likuena will play training matches against Africa Cup of Nations bound Mozambique and South Africa on January 6th and 10th respectively in Gauteng.
The first match will be against Mozambique at FNB Stadium on Saturday and will be followed by Bafana Bafana at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday 10th.
Likuena, as the Lesotho national team is affectionately known, were courted by several countries heading to Ivory Coast for friendly matches following their impressive displays against the likes of Ivory Coast and Nigeria in recent months.
Coach Leslie Notši has kept faith in the squad that opened their 2026 World Cup qualifiers with draws against Nigeria and Benin last month, but handed first call ups to several Lesotho born player plying their trade in South Africa.
The new faces in the squad are headlined by 18-year-old Kaizer Chiefs development team player, Tumelo Shai alongside Tlotliso Phatsitsi and Thato Sefuli, who plays for Black Leopards and Upington City in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Experienced duo of Tumelo Khutlang and Monaheng Ramalefane, who have been out of the picture for over a year have been recalled to the national team after impressive displays in the first ten matches in the Vodacom Premier League.
Khutlang has found his groove back since re-joining Lioli after years playing in South Africa for Black Leopards and Swallows FC while Ramalefane has been impressive for Matlama, who are in second position in the Vodacom Premier League.
