Molefe brimming with excitement with first fixture against Angola

Phuzile Molefe, who has been appointed Mehalalitoe captain for the COSAFA Women’s Championship in Polokwane, says she is brimming with enthusiasm ahead of first ever fixture against Angola.

The Mafeteng born attacker has been handed the responsibility of leading the team in the absence of regular captain, Thato Mapepesa, who is not part of the squad that has travelled to Polokwane.

Molefe will share the captaincy’s responsibilities alongside Litšeoane Maloro, who is another experienced campaigner in the squad.

“We are very excited, we haven’t played against Angola, I think. So, we are prepared,” Molefe said.

“Everybody is talking that we are in a difficult group, but our main focus is looking at one game at the time. One game at the time.

The Berea Ladies forward admitted that they have mammoth task in front of them to make it past the group stage and they need to be brave to be a success story at the tournament.

“We have to show courage, I think that’s the most important thing, courage and teamwork.”
