The Technical Team of the LeFA Academy has announced the final squad of 14 players that will represent the country at the inaugural FIFA U15 World Cup and Festival to be staged in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Lesotho delegation will leave the country on Monday ahead of the tournament that gets underway from October 24th to 30th.
The big bulk of the squad is made up of players from the LeFA Academy as well as three that were scouted for the Talent Development Scheme (TDS) but are currently not in the academy.
It will be a historic moment for Lesotho football, who since it was founded and became a FIFA member, is yet to see one of its national teams take part in a FIFA tournament. That wait will end in Azerbaijan, where around 190 Member Associations will take part in the first edition of the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival.
All 54 African nations have been confirmed to participate in the tournament, which will be played in a new 8-a-side format, with matches lasting 40 minutes, two 20-minute halves, and rolling substitutions to maximize player involvement.
