The Lesotho Football Association President, Mr. Lijane Nthunya, gave Likhosatsana a heroes’ welcome and encouraged the Girls U20 team to dream big after winning the Legacy Tournament hosted by the University of the Free State.
The LeFA President praised the togetherness within the group and called on the team to maintain the love among themselves.
He believes the team has a bright future, noting the success achieved before graduating to the U20 level.
The group and their coach, Mr. Tjamela Tjamela, became the country’s first women’s national team to reach a final after securing a spot in the final of the COSAFA Girls U20 Championship in 2023.
They followed it up with another final last year at the CAF Girls’ Gift Cup held in Zimbabwe.
“The sky is the limit, and signs are there that from what you have achieved already, you can take us to greater heights by qualifying for a major continental competition, and starting with that, you might make us happy at global level,” the LeFA President said.
“Continue to work hard and be a good example to our other national teams. We are proud of you.”
