Kick4Life Women are queens of the WSL Top 4 after holding their nerve in a dramatic penalty shootout to beat Berea Ladies 3-1 and lift the trophy.

The triumph came just weeks after Kick4Life lost their Women Super League crown to LDF Ladies. The Top 4 title offered immediate redemption.

Kick4Life booked a place in the final after beating bitter rivals LDF Ladies 5-3 on penalties, while Berea Ladies secured a 2-1 victory over Lijabatho Ladies to book a spot in the final. The semi-finals were played at Tšeliso “Saxophone” Technical Centre.

In the final at Russel Sebatana Technical Centre, the match was a tight, cagey affair with both sides canceling each other out over 90 minutes. Neither could find the breakthrough, forcing the match to penalties.

Kick4Life had gone ahead in the first half through Nyakallo Taole, but Berea Ladies hit back in the second half through Lerato Shoaepane.

From the spot, Kick4Life showed championship mentality, converting all their penalties. Goalkeeper Boelo Lepheana stepped up with important saves to hand her team victory.

Berea Ladies netted just once from four attempts, and Kick4Life made no mistakes to seal a 3-1 shootout win.

The victory handed coach Shalane Lehohla his first piece of silverware since taking over the reins at the club, and he was later named Coach of the Tournament.

For Berea Ladies, it was another season of punching above their weight. They finished among the top four teams and showed why they were worthy finalists.
