LeFA builds relations with Government Ministries

The Lesotho Football Association, through the Office of the President Mr. Lijane Nthunya, has continued to build relations with different Ministries of the Government of Lesotho, which are key stakeholders in the development of football.

This was top of the agenda for Mr. Nthunya, who, in his first week after assuming office, met with the Lesotho Sports and Recreation Commission (LSRC) to facilitate a meeting with the Minister of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture, Honourable Motlatsi Maqelepo.

The working relationship has grown in leaps and bounds since then, with LeFA now working closely with both the LSRC and the Ministry of Sports on many of its activities.

These include the Government of Lesotho fast-tracking the installation of artificial turf at Setsoto Stadium, which has since reopened to host Premier League and Women’s Super League matches.

LeFA has now taken another big step forward. Last week, through the District Administrator of Maseru, Mr. Tsepo Lethobane, the Association met with representatives from different Ministries to outline its roadmap.

LeFA is working towards rebuilding trust and establishing cooperation between the Association, the Government of Lesotho, and all its Ministries, with a commitment to fostering constructive and collaborative partnerships.
