LeFA Submits Toyota Stadium for Morocco Clash

The Lesotho Football Association has submitted Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein as the venue to host its first home fixture in the CAF TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA Group Stage against Morocco on Tuesday, 29 September.

The highly anticipated match will see Likuena host Africa’s number one ranked team, the Atlas Lions, in the Free State after the association submitted the South African venue for CAF approval.

Lesotho remains among the countries whose national stadiums do not meet CAF standards to host international matches. This follows the recent publication of venues approved to host games during the September and October FIFA window.

Likuena booked their place in the group stage after defeating Seychelles 2-1 on aggregate in the preliminary round in March 2026, drawing 0-0 away before winning 2-1 in Bloemfontein.

They will begin their AFCON 2027 campaign in Group A with an away fixture against Niger, before the home clash against Morocco.

Qualifying matches will run during international windows from September 2026 to March 2027, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the final tournament jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
